Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant

January 16, 2016
Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant in Cool Essentials

When it comes to deodorant and antiperspirant I'm always changing between the both. Most of the time I need a deodorant with antiperspirant because I sweat...a lot. But other times my hypochondriac self decides to put my body through "detox" and then suddenly stick to all-natural deodorant minus the antiperspirant. But when I do this I end up having to reapply throughout the day, and let's just say I don't have time for that.

So whenever I am in that phase of deodorant and antiperspirant I always use Dove. Right now I've been using Dove Advanced Care with Nutrium Moisture in Shea Butter, and I love it! It doesn't smell too strong and it protects me the whole day. Plus after using this product for a couple of months I noticed that my underarms became clearer and the skin lighter - shaving problems!

Now that Dove has released their new Dry Spray antiperspirant line I knew I had to give it a try. Although I love my solid version, a sprayed-on antiperspirant just makes life way more easier, right? I tried the Cool Essentials one and I am pleased to say that I like it. The scent is fresh and it leaves me smelling my best. Plus the dry time is quick. One of the main reasons why I like this version is because there is no leftover residue, meaning no white marks. This dry spray is perfect to use when you're ready to buy and wear that cute sleeveless top you've been eyeing from J. Crew (ahem, or that I'm eyeing).

Have you tried Dove's Dry Spray line? What deodorant/antiperspirant do you use?

Are Your Eyebrows On Fleek?

January 6, 2016
Glossier Boy Brow

I've never been one to say that my eyebrows are "on fleek." I do love my eyebrows though. I remember when I turned thirteen and my mom gave me permission so that I could wax my eyebrows for the first time although I never told her I wanted to wax them in the first place. It turns out that my older sister waxed her eyebrows for the first time when she was thirteen and of course tradition passed on to me. My eyebrows have always been light black with fine hairs so I never really saw the point of waxing them.

Ultimately I did waxed my eyebrows, although not at thirteen, and I do have to say they looked cleaner. But to be honest I can go months without waxing them and no one will ever notice that I missed a wax appointment. What can I say, waxing the brows is one less upkeep I have to deal with every month. Although I am happy with my brows I always wanted my brows to be thick like Lily Collins but with a simple shape like Jessica Alba's.

Enter Glossier Boy Brow. I've been obsessed with Glossier since they first launched and I'm always on the lookout for any new product releases. Their latest launch: Boy Brow, an eyebrow pomade used to thicken and condition your eyebrows while adding color and a flexible hold. It works great on any type of brows. What I love the most about this is that it completely defines my eyebrows making me look polished without needing to wear any other kind of makeup. Another great thing about this pomade is the color selection. The Boy Brow comes in three colors, blond, brown, and black. I wear black and it really suits me well.

You can almost compare this product to Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Gel. But the color pay off doesn't compare. Gimme Brow is only available in two colors and none of them match my natural hair color. Their medium/deep color is a very dark brown that just doesn't look flattering on me. But the Boy Brow black color looks very natural which I love.

How do they look?

To apply the Boy Brow I simply brush the wand over my eyebrows in an upward motion making sure to focus on my eyebrow "sprouts" (the very beginning of your brow) for a youthful look and natural pigmented definition. This is also perfect for every day use.

Good news: Follow this link to get 20% off your first Glossier purchase. Forget about waxing just use Boy Brow. Enjoy!

Make Your Nail Polish Last Longer With This Tip

January 4, 2016
Essie Velvet Voyeur

Day Three: Wearing Essie Velvet Voyeur, a deep wine/chocolate purple.

Does it feel that no matter how hard you try you can't get an at-home manicure to actually last? Take it from me, I wish I could rock a beautiful paint-job of Essie Topless and Barefoot for a whole week, but it only lasts a mere two days until it begins to chip or worse, peel. Ever since the beauty gods discontinued my beloved True Blue Spa Seal The Deal Base and Top Coat I still can't find a matching replacement. So there I went Googling nonstop for the best top coats. I mean is it so hard to ask for shiny and glossy nails that last?

My search led me to one of the most popular top coats: Seche Vite. Seche Vite promises to leave your nails with high-shine while protecting your color for days. I had nothing to lose so there I went to buy a bottle on Amazon. I had high hopes for Seche Vite. Unfortunately my nail polish began to peel after just two days. What is this madness? With way too much experimenting I finally figured it out: top coat has no importance at all. The only thing that matters is the way you apply your polish.

Typically this is how you're suppose to apply: base coat, thin coat of color, let it dry for two minutes, second thin coat of color, again let it dry for two minutes, and then finally adding top coat. Well I've tried this and it doesn't work for me. Here's how I now apply: base coat, thin coat of color, let it dry for two minutes, add top coat, let it dry for two minutes, second thin coat of color, let it dry for two minutes, and then finally add top coat once again.

So basically you're just adding an extra layer of top coat before your second coat of color. This extra layer of top coat really adheres the first coat of color to your nails. It may also sound like there's a lot of drying time but trust me this totally works! I was surprised that my nails were still looking good on day two. But that wasn't more surprising than seeing my nail polish still intact after five days even after washing dishes. I'm talking no peeling and only very minimal chipping as well as some nail growth. Is this how the beauty gods are rewarding me for taking Seal The Deal away from me?

Day Six: Some obvious chipping on the middle finger and thumb but the rest look pretty good for being the sixth day. BTW please don't mind my dry cuticles. I'm currently working on getting them moisturized by using this.
